Li River hiking is one of the options to enjoy the karst scenery along the river. There are several hiking routes along the river to try.
Route: Yangdi - Langshi Village - Quanjiawan - Laocuntou - Lengshuiwan - Nine-horse Fresco Hill - Xingping, duration of time: around 5 hours.
Hike along the route and you’ll view the highlight landscape of the Li River. But it requires you to get the ticket for the local ferry as you’d need to take 3 ferries along the route. First, get the ticket at Yangdi Pier and take the ferry to the opposite bank. Then, hike forward to Langshi Village where you have to take a second ferry to the opposite bank. Walk along the river and get to the Lengshuitan where you will take the third ferry to the opposite bank where Nine-horse Fresco Hill is located. Finally, hike to Xingping Pier. Along the route, you will see Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, Snail Hill and Wave Stone Legend. |
Route: Daxu Old Town - Caoping
The route of Li River hiking is ideal for those who are keen on hiking. First, rent a vehicle to the Daxu Old Town. You could explore the town and then start the Li River hiking. Walk along the trail, through a small woods, across a small village and then you’ll arrive at the opposite bank of the Mopanshan Pier. Hike along the river, across the Biyange Village and walk along the river again. After 1 hour hike, you’ll get to Jiuniuwangsanzhou, the starting point of one of the most classical hiking routes. At this point, you’d need to take a local ferry to the opposite bank and hike through the countryside for 30 minutes. Then, you’ll reach Mingcun Lower Ferry. Take a local ferry again to the opposite bank. Hike through Caoping Upper Village and Liujiapu Village and Caoping will appear in front of you. With a length of 12 kilometers long, the Crown Cave is located in Caoping. If interested, you could explore the cave. |
